Sick Day

Henry was sick today. Fortunately the most amazing husband in the world was able to study from home today to take care of him so I could go to work. Josh, however, got a little distracted and decided it was a good time to practice his photography. Apparently the only time we can get good pictures of Henry is when he isn't moving, and the only time he isn't moving is when he is asleep. Because Henry was sick, he slept a lot. That meant Josh got to take a ton of pictures. Here are a few of his favorites.

Cousins Visit!

WOW! Well we have been super busy, and having LOADS of fun! My sister sent her 3 oldest kiddos out last week. We had SO much fun! It felt like we were moving non-stop for about 8 days! Enjoy the pictures! And thank you Carly for sending em! We LOVED having them here!
Day 1: We spent the morning visiting just a couple of Museums on the Mall, eating lunch at Au Bon Pain.  Josh met us for lunch and he took the kids to see the white house and many of the other amazing monuments.

The following day we drove down to North Carolina to visit more family! Aunty  Jenna and her family live in High Point
and they were nice enough to have us. The picture above is Trayson holding Henry while he is sleeping. SO SWEET. Trayson isnt alseep, but just looking down... Cute huh.
While in NC we went hiking. It was wonderful!

Jordan, Garrett, Trayson, Mckenzie, Sarah, Dave, Samee

Okay universe, I want a little credit for this picture. Our hike to hanging rock was 1.3 miles UP a mountain and I carried this little dude ALMOST the ENTIRE time - Up and down! He crashed for the last half mile or so. Great right... sheesh, ya never know how heavy a toddler is until ya carry them that long. We had sooo much fun though.

PS- Yes, this hat is Henry's Although I wear it a few snaps larger, its not many. I guess I have a tiny head....
After we got back on Saturday afternoon Josh took the kids to see the monuments at night lit up. On Sunday we visited the Jefferson, MLK, and FDR memorial. We walked around the whole tidal basin, and then headed to church. It was a beautiful day and Im so glad we got to visit these monuments and wander this amazing area.

AFTER chuch I took the kiddos to Gravelly Point Park. We enjoyed watching the airplanes come in. AFTER the Park we went to a baptism for a sweet girl in my primary class. BUSY BUSY

On Monday we went to Arlington Cemetery and enjoyed lunch at Ben's Chili Bowl. If you haven't been, you should go!

Okay, then my camera died, so I didnt get Tuesdays Pictures, but we went to Mt. Vernon, Ford's Theater, and Souvenir shopping! Also we at at Pot Belly's for Lunch. YUM. The girls came up with a fun idea for a souvenir. They really wanted a DC photo Album. Well, instead of buying one in DC we went to the craft store, bought books on sale. SUPER DUPER CUTE ONES. We bought stickers and got pictures developed. We watch Remember the Titans, ate yummy snack food, and SCRAP BOOKED! Such a fun last day.
Well, on our last morning.... We ran quickly to the American history museum AGAIN bc the first time we went we didn't see the flag. Bummer, so the kids ran in to see it, Sam got her back she wished she had purchased the day before.... and we were off. We stopped at the Temple to visit. Im always so amazed each visit.
GOODBYE Kiddos! We miss you already SO much! Travel Safe

Very Low Key Easter

This year Easter was very low key. Henry enjoyed learning about the Resurrection and Easter story at Nursery and Preschool, and home, but as for festivities? We enjoyed a little egg hunt at preschool, and dying eggs with daddy. Henry was fascinated! We also enjoyed a fabulous dinner with a dear friend from our ward who must have been inspired to invite us over as we were going to enjoy grilled cheese or something equally as easy. She was so sweet for thinking of us. Henry also got an adorable, huge, Sponge Bob Easter basket from a neighbor. We are surrounded by such thoughtful people!
