Baby Love

I haven't talked much about how Henry feels about the baby we are getting ready to welcome into our family. While it took him several weeks to even care, I believe he now understands he is going to have a sibling, and Henry has become the most affectionate little boy. It is so sweet. It started out small. His little kisses went from a quick peck when he wasnt even really looking at you, to puckering up those adorable little lips and layin' one on ya like he meant it! And of course now a kiss cant go without a hug, and a kiss and a hug for mom can't go without a kiss and a hug for baby. Henry LOVES to hug and kiss baby, and asks frequently "Mom, does the baby like hugs and kisses?" Followed by "Mom, does the baby like me?" And of course my answer to both is "Yes sweet boy. Baby ADORES you and your hugs and kisses." This happens SEVERAL times a day and I don't mind it one bit. Henry also wants to make I understand that he is  going to be a great helper and sharer. He seems to already know the routine. At least in theory.
Mom: Henry what do we do if the baby cries?
Henry: We rub the baby's back mom, or wrap the baby up if he's (somedays it's she) cold, or feed the baby, or MOM! I'll get you a new diaper. Maybe the baby needs a new diaper, or get the baby a toy mom. Or maybe he's tired.....
He seems to know all the answers, and I try to make it clear that yes, the baby will cry sometimes. I dont know yet, exactly how my little 3 year old will respond to our new addition and I actually believe that sharing his daddy is going to be his greatest trial when the big change happens, but I am sure he is going to be a wonderful brother, and we are trying not to wish away these next 5 months.
Henry also spends the day asking this question over, and over and over and over and over and over.... (well you get the idea) and over again
"Mom does the baby like ________________________" fill in the blank however you choose. It is often times whatever I am eating, or what Henry is playing with, or a color, or movie, or a cousin of his, or a treat.... Mostly I tell him the baby LOVES it, especially the veggies :) however it hasn't made Henry want to try anything new. Bummer.

View on Heaven
Henry recently lost his Grandpa Snow and mentions him often. Last night as we were on our way to the store he said "Dad, I miss Grandpa Snow" Josh mentioned that he missed him too. Henry then went one to explain that it was probably Grandpa's bedtime in Heaven, and Josh explained that he thought Grandpa might not get tired in Heaven and didn't need to sleep, and he was running and playing in Heaven. Well, Henry had a rather strong opinion about this and told his dad the following about his view on Heaven.
"No dad, they don't run in Heaven. They just walk in the offices quietly" When we asked about the offices and what Grandpa did there he just explained that you are quiet there, and push buttons on computers and work.
Hmm... okay? I thought.

Snowy Day

Have I mentioned in this blog yet how much of a Daddy's boy Henry is?  He LOVES to spend time with his daddy. It doesnt matter what he is doing, if Henry can help, in any small way he loves to. It snowed all day yesterday. Josh shoveled the driveway 3 times! 2 of which Henry assisted and mostly those 2 times were done just to occupy him.... What a good dad huh? He bundled the little man up twice so they could go work together.

Henry and Grandpa

We are sad to announce that Henry lost his Grandpa Snow this week. He struggled for many years with several difficult health issues and we will all miss him dearly. We love you Grandpa Snow!
Henry LOVED to spend time with grandpa - No matter the activity

Big Brother

Look close....
A little closer......
Henry is excited to announce that he is going to be a big brother this spring! That is spring of 2013 - Not spring of 2012... Pregnancy brain I guess...

Halloween 2013

Henry greatly looked forward to Halloween this year. We picked out his costume a whole year ago, and he's been practicing his "Trick-or-treat" for weeks!

Carving pumpkins with Aunt Jessica, and Uncle Cory, and Daddy while mommy made scones.
Aunt Jessica's, Daddy and Henrys, Uncle Cory's, and Mommy's
Henry and Finn trick or treating at Daddy's work. Finn was a fire chief and Henry a 'flying' dragon - dragon shoes and all.
We took Henry out this year for the first time. He LOVED this. It wasnt until his last 4 or 5 houses that he would walk all the way up to the door without dad and say loud enough for the neighbor to hear "trick or treat" So.... the nice mommy that I am I begged and pleaded with him to do just a few more houses because I thought his trick or treating was so sweet and so grown up. Love my sweet boy.

what we've been up to

We rode the trax downtown with Grandma Snow to Daddy's Swearing In Ceremony. Henry looked adorable that day. Floods and all. And he was FASCINATED riding the trax. Kinda makes us miss DC

We met up with some friends and did the witch hunt at Gardner Village with the kiddos. They mostly loved it. It was cold, and blustery, and a bit rainy, but so much fun anyway.

No the best picture, but you have got to love little Jack's cheesy grin while he indeed was eating cheese.

Alright already!

More to ease the nagging of my own self, here is a blog post! :) We have been busy. Enjoy the events and pictures!
Im sure you are tired of hearing about Henry's new bikes, but the kid is a pro! He LOVES riding his bikes, and spends a great deal of time on them. He asked last week if we could PLEASE take his training wheels off. Sheesh. Maybe in the spring kiddo. Maybe in the spring....
BOTH of Henry's sweet new rides
Okay, I just had to throw this picture in. Isnt is silly? Henry sometimes INSISTS on wearing his jammie shorts that high. GRANDPA!
We spent a morning up at Silver Lake while Aunt Jenny was in town. I hadn't enjoyed this amazing scenery in several years, and I was happy to go along for the ride! We saw this magnificent moose. Actually there were 2! This was incredible.

Aunt Jenny, and Sarah
Just some of the gang while Aunt Jenny was in town. Always gotta go for a Brick Oven outing while she's here!
Aunty Natty and Uncle Sean got HITCHED! The day was incredible, and we are so happy for them. They both deserve a wonderful, happy life together! Here are a few snap shots.

Here are our 4 babies born between August and December in just one short year!
Addie, Henry, Finn, Ty - CUTE huh
Henry's lips match his shorts. Gotta love those blue lollipops.
Thanks for visiting! I hope you enjoyed the pictures! Here's some more update in words about our little dude!
Things you might not know about Henry:

1. Henry LOVES cars. Talks about them constantly. He thinks our new little red car is "So Fancy" and recognizes all Toyotas, Mazdas, and Hyundais on the road. He's working on remembering Fords, and any others I can help him with. He recognizes shapes of vehicles. He can pick out Grandpa Snow's same vehicle in ANY color from great distances, as well as Grandma Julie's, and Aunt Carly's, and so forth. He LOVES his cars. He recently picked up an auto trader at a restaurant and now carries it with him everywhere!
2. Henry is the most polite 3 year old boy you will meet. He almost always always says his please, and thank you's - He always says 'bless you' and 'excuse you mommy...' He always replies in such a mild manner and always with a 'your welcome' when needed. Its really quite adorable.
3. Henry LOVES books. If we could spend all day reading, and some days I wish we could, then he would be in Heaven. His favorites right now include Weekend with Wendall, The Big, Ripe Strawberry, Any Clifford books, and so many more... Wish I weren't drawing a blank.
4. Henry is a bit of stinker when it comes to bed time if he has had a nap during the day. He often comes up with 10 or more different reasons to come out of his bedroom.
5. Still a picker eater! What's a mom to do! Henry LIVES on Peanut butter, Cottage Cheese, Mac'N'Cheese, Quesadillas, Cheese sticks, Applesauce, Milk... oh goodness. Thats about it. Really.

Well Im sure there's so much more I could share, but we'll leave it there for now. Hope you enjoyed! Until next time, which hopefully is sooner then later!

Owie?

Henry fell jumping on the trampoline with his tiny cousins just 3 days before his 3rd birthday. If you haven't already experienced a head wound you should know now that they are bleeders. Now, this wasnt his first head wound...he's cut his lip a couple times, but this WAS our first experience with stitches. Not Fun. Thats all I can say. Its a hard thing for a mommy to hold her confused, upset, hurting child down while a doctor pushes, what looks like, a fish hook through his perfect skin 4 times. It was not fun, but Henry was a perfect angel. AFTER...all was said and done. He got a chocolate frosty, and never once touched his cool, new, blue stitches.
I came out to find Henry had made a Road of DVDS. He wouldnt let me put them away all day! Finally when Dad was on his way home I convinced they had to go back. I love his toddler--ness :)

3 YEARS OLD

Well, our sweet little Henry has officially turned 3! I was kind of hoping his birthday wouldn't come, and he would quit aging. He is mature beyond his 3 little years, and its an amazing thing to witness his growth, and grasp of the world around him. He is so so very chatty. He loves to talk. He asks me a million questions a day about anything and everything. His curiosity is incredible, and as much as I hate to watch him age so quickly I am anxious and excited to see what this little man does with his life. He has great potential, and will do wonderful things. We celebrated Henry's 3 birthday with a steady flow of gifts all day long, and a monster bash with family! We got rained out about 45 minutes into his party which was a bummer, but we are grateful for this amazing little boy. Happy 3rd Birthday Henry! We love you more then you will ever know.

All in all - I'd say it was a pretty AWESOME day. Happy Birthday sweet boy. We LOVE you!
