Bathtime Photo

Henry has his moments, but we have discovered for the most part He loves bathime! He is so great in the tub, and getting him out is easier then ever. He just seems so relaxed. It is part of his bedtime routine. We start with a bath, and lotion him up...which he loves too :) amd then it's PJ's and time to eat. He then just falls asleep....YAY! Finally we are figuring some of this out....
I love you Henry!

Candy Corn Henry

I found these cute PJ's for .99 at The Children's Place one day.... very suiting seeing as Halloween is next week. He is cuddled up next to his doggy Harry. Josh and I made Harry for him when I was about 5 or 6 months pregnant with Henry.

Gettysburg Pennsylvania

As a family, we were able to visit Gettysburg this week! Josh is out of school due to fall break. :) The only fall break he'll ever get in law school, so we thought we should do something fun. We had so much fun. We followed what they called the "auto tour" of 16 different locations with monuments at them. We spent a couple hours reading about the monuments, and driving the national park. Its amazing there because you can truly feel that it's a sacred place. I was amazed how much I learned about what happened at Gettysburg. It's funny how much you can forget when you learned about these kinds of things so long ago. The drive was beautiful. The trees here are all just starting to turn from green to yellows and reds, and oranges. In another month or so it is going to be amazing! The weather was perfect. We aren't used to it being so warm this long. It snows at least once before Halloween in Salt Lake every year, and we have yet to see anything like that here yet. We are excited for all the opportunities we will have here.

Carmel Apples!

Heidi, Tristan, Chelsea, Christen, Henry, Michelle, Gabbi, Eve, and Alex! The gang's all here!

Heidi (mommy to be in February), Mommy, Henry
Henry and I got to go make carmel apples with all of our Law School Mommies. We play every Wednesday, and this week was so much fun! There is a lot more that goes into making carmel apples then just carmel and apples! Thanks Eve, and Michelle! The girls went all out. we did white chocolate over our carmel and then crushed oreos! Such a fun fall activity!

Singing at the mall

Henry and I went to Tyson's Corner mall yesterday to "play" in our ward playgroup. I think Henry will enjoy it a little more when he is a little bigger. Although, I am certain he enjoyed it anyway, because Henry gets bored at home. It was a lot of fun. They had fun instruments, and the singers there sang for over an hour while we were there! Lots of kids and lots of fun!

Teasing Mommy

GETTING READY FOR BED IN HIS PUMA PJ'S

ALL BUNDLED UP FOR A COLD DAY OUT!

THEODORE ROOSEVELT ISLAND

Happy Friday!
It is finally the weekend, which is slightly more fun when dad doesnt have a midterm to study for. He'll be going to school tomorrow...SATURDAY! to study. Henry's gone back down to mostly just sleeping 3 hours before he wakes up hungry, and during the day he starts getting fussy about every 2 1/2 hours. Silly boy. I think he's been teasing me when he sleeps for 6 hours.

This week Henry and I went to Theodore Roosevelt Island in the Potomac. We packed a little lunch and went with Henry's friends, Gabbi, and Alex. It was really fun, except it was very cold. We'll have to go again on a warmer day because it's beautiful, and there is so much more of the island to see.
It has been rainy most the week so Henry and I have tried not to go out too much. We had Alex and Gabbi over yesterday so the mommys could play, and we could cut Michelle's hair. Also, we booked our flight home for Christmas! YAY. Aunt Livie is getting married on December 29, so we kind of get to kill two birds with one stone.

Daddy and Henry have their own game now. It's funny because he will only play with Dad. Josh makes a funny gurggling sound, and Henry imitates and then smiles one of his big happy smiles. He wont play it with me, or if he wants to tease me, he'll do it once for me and then quit. I'm glad they play together. It's a lot of fun to watch.
Henry usually loves to take a bath. We try every night to bath Henry around 9pm, so that he has something that stays the same every day...pattern wise. He even loves just listening to the water run. If he is being fussy and we've tried everything else, we'll turn a faucet on for just a minute to calm him down. It always works. However, last night just as we were getting ready for bath time Henry was getting a little fussy. I thought he'd be so excited to get in the warm water, but when I laid him down, he just screamed and screamed at me. The water wasn't hotter then usual, I think he was just really tired. I pulled him out of the tub, put a diaper on him, wrapped him really tight in a towel and he fell asleep almost immediatly. SIlly boy. Hopefully he gets a bath in tonight. :)

Happy Monday

Good Morning - :)

Well, it's 7:17am and Henry is sleeping on the futon right behind me. YAY! I probably have another hour or two before he's up for the day. I promise I will quit writing about his sleeping patterns, but 2 nights ago he slept all the way through the night! Again! I am continually amazed for 2 reasons. 1. I wonder if it's too early for a baby to be sleeping all the way through the night, granted it isnt every night, but still.....? and 2. I somehow feel convinced that I thought I'D never get to sleep through the night again.

Henry is getting so big it seems. It's amazing to watch a baby grow and develop. We notice everything new he is doing and discovering. He loves to lick everything. If I am burping him over my shoulder he is licking my shirt. He loves to like and suck on his fingers and hands, and seems to enjoy knawing on his blanket a little bit. We put him in his little pouch the other day to go shopping and turned around to face out for the first time. He loved that, but soaked the whole front of the carrier due to slobbering, and licking.... Silly boy.

We took Henry and went to the Iwo Jima Memorial on Saturday. While we were there they were doing some tribute to those in the Navy. It was neat to see men that had served our county, and were at Iwo Jima or knew people that were killed at Iwo Jima. The memorial itself was also really incredible. It's HUGE! I have a feeling Henry is going to see a lot of really amazing things and sadly never remember them all.

Henry is getting really strong and lots of personality. He loves to stand on our laps, and look around. He hates facing the back of the couch or a chair, and if we havent made it out of the house until noon or 1pm he gets really bored. He also loves the bath, and if he being fussy at all, all we have to do is turn on the faucet and he calms right down. I think he thinks he gets to get in the bath everytime he hears water. He is a very sweet little boy, and we love having him around.

I wanted to send an "I love you!" to my dad! I'm sorry I haven't called. We love you and miss you!

Good Morning

Henry is smiling a lot for us now. YAY! Only daddy seems to be able to catch it on camera though. Henry also has discovered, and loves mirrors. If he concentrates and finds himself, or mommy or daddy, then he will laugh, and talk, and smile. It's so much fun to watch. I can't believe how big our sweet boy is getting.

This is Henry and his new friends. There is Alex on the left, Gabbi in the middle, and Henry hanging out on the right. They were just playing while we had tacos one day :) They are all such good babies, and all within 4 weeks of age. Thank goodness other people are in the same boat we are!

uh-oh.......

So, today has been....one of those days ya know. Henry slept through the night last night, so I feel as if I should have been so much more productive then I am on days that I was up more the night before. However, I didn't seem to get much done, and I am exhausted from a day of emotional turmoil regarding our trip home for the holidays, and I ventured out for the first time on the freeways by myself since being here in beautiful Virginia - which, by they way, I got lost coming home...well all these stories, but not much about sweet little Henry..... Today we got Henry's picture taken for the first time, which was an interesting experiance, but we did one really cute picture we like, although it's going to take 2 WEEKS before we get them. I guess you get what you pay for. Also, tonight, while I was at an activity for the J. Rueben Clark Spouse's Society, Daddy and Henry spent the evening together. Henry ended up peeing all over Daddy at Target. Yep, all down his shirt, and Henry was completely soaked through his shorts. I think it's only fair every Dad experiances that at least once...dont you? Goodnight!

Sweet growing Henry

I am amazed to anounce that Henry slept, again through the night last night. He must be a growing boy that needs all that sleep. We went to get his pictures taken this morning...YAY! However I was a little disappointed with the girl that was taking his picture. I felt as if she would look at me waiting for me to tell her exactly what to do, when I was kind of hoping for it to be the other way around. She's the professional right? She didn't take very many shots, or have any great ideas, although, of the few she did take, Henry got one cute picture that I really liked, but I'm biased. I think it's cute when he belches! Also, he's a lot like his daddy, sometimes it's okay to take his picture, but sometimes it's not...like today.... sheesh! Anyway, I don't have much time, my house is a wreck, I am still working on my application for health insurance, and I need to go pick up my husband. Love you all!

SLEEP!

I have an amazing story. To any mom with a 2 month old baby, you will find it amazing that little Henry slept for 8 hours last night! from 10:30pm to 6:30am! And not only that, but he went almost 10 hours between eating. He ate at 9pm last night. I am feeling very energized this morning, and even made german pancakes for breakfast :) Henry is out on a walk with his daddy right now, so I even get to go jump in the shower, and get ready for the day. I know it's a fluke, and will probably never happen again, but I am pretty excited it happened last night. YAY!I have also begun to notice that every day, right at 1pm, Henry falls asleep. It doesnt matter where we are, He has designated that his nap time. My sweet little boy. I am a very lucky mommy.

Nats Game! WOO-WOO

Last night (9/25/09- Happy Birthday Kate : ) ) we went to a Nats Baseball Game. The Nationals played the Braves. That was a lot of fun. The stadium is huge! Henry and I have never been to a major league baseball game. Henry got a little nervous we think with all the noise, but it made for a funny picture. We rode the metro into the city which we don't do very often, and were able to meet some other couples from the J. Reuben Clark Society. The Nationals lost, but we had a really fun night.
We also made it out the zoo earlier this week. We saw the pandas, and zebras, and some other fun animals, but decided that we were going to have to make it out there a couple more times to see it all. We went with some of the girls in our ward and with their little babies. It has been a lot of fun getting to know the girls in my ward. I am lucky to be in the same boat with other people. I think without them, this move across the county with a very tiny baby would be much harder.
Well...Until our next adventure.....

2 Weeks at Grandma Julie's and Grandpa Keith's

At the airport with Grandma Julie, and Grandpa Keith - Sad Goodbyes -

So much great family! Uncle Ryan, Aunt Jessica, Cousin Kaitlyn and Grandma Snow

COUSINS COUSINS COUSINS! Trayson, Mckenzie, Sammy, and Kaycee

Mommy and Henry - I love you sweet boy

Shortly after we welcomed Henry into the world and our family Josh needed to leave for school. He had a long road trip ahead of him. We are lucky to have such great family. Josh's brother, neice, and dad were willing and able to drive with Josh across the county to our new home. Meanwhile, I needed to recover a little longer from my c-section, so Henry and I stayed with my parents for 2 weeks. Again, we are so grateful to have such great family around. My mom had a room all set up for Henry and I when we arrived. She even moved a rocking chair, and his bassinet into our room. We had the opportunity to spend 2 weeks with family before we made our great big move. Aunt Jen was in town and we even got to play with here a little bit. I remember during those two weeks being so worried about how much Henry slept, but now wish he slept a little more like that now....just more through the night. I do love him so much, and grateful he was there with me while I spent 2 long weeks away from my sweet husband.

Sweet Henry

Henry and Harry -
Welcome to our family little Henry

August 5, 2009

I woke up the morning of August 5, just shy of 5am to use the restroom. It was my long awaited due date, and I was hoping to meet our newest addition to our family SOON! I climbed awkwardly back into bed hoping to be able to fall back asleep. I laid there for just a minute or so before I felt 3 small pops in my lower abdomin and thought that just must be my little boy adjusting from my walk to the bathroom and back. Shortly after those pops my water broke. I wasn't sure at the time what I was experiancing, and entertained other ideas, like maybe I had lost control of my bladder....before realizing that indeed, my water HAD broken! I woke up my husband, and ran to the bathroom for fear of ruining my sheets, yes that thought actually ran through my mind. I waited in the restroom for Josh to grab everything we thought we'd need, and changed just before walking out the door at 5am to this great adventure. I was nervous, and excited. I think you get to a point in pregnancy when you actually want to experiance labor and delivery, and I was there. Although I had been experiancing rough contractions for several days now, I had decided not to wait long for the epidural. Yay! Although there was much relief with the epidural, I still experianced a lot...a lot of pressure.
I was given cherry popsicals all day long, and had an amazing flock of visitors in and out all day long. Noon came and went, and I was slowly dialating. Before we knew it, we were late into the evening and I was having a difficult time dialating to 10 with contractions that were not going to be strong enough to help deliver my sweet little boy. It was decided that a C-section was going to be the best alternative to bringing Henry into this world. I struggled with this decision made by my docter simply becaue I felt as if my body had failed me. I was not going to be able to bring my little boy into this world they way my body was made to deliver a baby.
I watched as Josh, my dear sweet husband who had not left my side all day long, dress in his all white surgery attire, and we were wheeled away, past all of our family who was waiting outside my room. Our sweet boy was delivered shortly after at 11:47pm on August 5, 2009. He weighed 8LBS 15OZ and was just over 22 inches long. Welcome to the world little Joshua Henry Snow.
I would want my husband to know how grateful I was for him during this experiance. He held my hand during my frustrating moments, and helped me calm my breathing when I began getting nervous and anxious. He rubbed my back when I was in pain and held my hand when I was uncontrollably shakey. So to my husband: Thank for being and incredible strength during a difficult and amazing experiance.
